Butterflies have always intrigued Marianne. Their transformative life cycle, which begins as an egg then continues as a larvae and pupa before emerging as a butterfly inspired her creation of Anna, the single-parent protagonist in her contemporary mystery novel, The Chase. The caterpillars are from butterfly farms in Costs Rica and the Philippines. Once they are in the chrysalis state, they are shipped here and on display for visitors.
