Food helps an author create an authentic sense of place for the reader. Travel is integral to the research I conduct for my fiction and non-fiction writing projects and learning about a country’s food traditions is an important component.

Italy is the ancestral home of the Lima and Perri families. Every time I return there for genealogical research as well as writing pursuits, I strive to explore another region.
